ETHIOPIA: Volunteers for the orden of Mother Theresa

short description: Medical students / non-Medical students from all over the world have the possibility to work in one of the 'hospitals for the poor' in ethiopia. There are different types of work like washing wounds, giving injections, playing with disabled children and much more. There is a lot of basic work to do and every hand is needed!
Students work together with international staff as e.g. nurses from the orden and doctors. The orden of mother theresa is running 6 hospitals in ethiopia so you can also change your working place when you wanna get new experiences - they are all happy to have you as an medical volunteer!
requirements: all medical and non-medical students are welcome
duration: at least 4 weeks are suggested
time: all-the-year
special costs: food and accomodation are for free but the sisters are happy for every financial support

INDONESIA: International clerkship program

short description: This clerkship program is organised by medical students from Brawijaya University (Malang, Indonesia).
Students have the possibility to study tropical diseases as well as live in an indigenous culture. They will stay with a selected local familiy with daily practical training at the teaching hospital from Monday to Saturday and outtgoing program during weekends. Students can select one of the following disciplines: OBG, Surgery, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine or Public Health.

short description: The aim of the project is to promote and improve the living conditions of the villagers and in the meantime to provide western people with knowledge about the developing countries. The project aims at improving the life standard of people in this rural area through community participation in different programmes (Medical, Educational,Micro-credi,etc.). The project also educates the population in hygiene and health problems in general. .

short description: CEPAS works together with the public University of Espirito Santo. They created the project "elementary health care and education" where students can pracitce their theoretical knowledge.

short description: Project Ak`Tenamit is a community development organisation located on the Rio Dulce river in eastern Guatemala. It is dedicated to empowering indigenous communities through grassroots programs in health, education and family income generation.
