Insurances for incomings

Every incoming to Austria has to have at least two different insurances!

Health insurance

First of all and absolutely compulsory is a health insurance that covers all costs of health care in Austria for the time of your stay! There are a lot of possibilities to cover the health risks. Travel insurance, credit cards covering health risks or the usual health insurance used in your country! It is your responsibility to check out how to cover the costs of Austrian health care!

A proof of health insurance should be sent with your application. Those incomings needing a letter of invitation from AMSA will have to show a document to the Austrian embassy proofing that their risks are covered.

Professional liability insurance

Second and very important too is a professional liability insurance covering the costs of your eventually destructive errors / accidents during your clerkship or elective (research exchange) in an Austrian hospital!

AMSA WILL ORGANISE YOUR PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY INSURANCE. Every incoming student will be insured by AMSA upon arrival and has to pay a fee of about 8 Euro. It is provided by BASLER Versicherung and we organise it as soon as you have checked in!
